Sony BRAVIA 7 Mini LED
The Sony BRAVIA 7 is a more affordabe, yet high technology, high performance flat panel TV. It uses Mini LEDs, thousands of them behind the screen. As shown above, these Mini LEDS are smaller, so they can be better controlled. If the picture on one part of the screen is the sun, the Sony XR processor tells the LEDs behind the sun to put out more light. It also tells the LEDs in darker scenes to put out less light. This is called Local Dimming.
The new BRAVIA 7 series replaces last year's top LED XBRX95L mini LED, with basically all the same technology. The new BRAVIA 9 uses newly developed tiny LED control chips with dramatically more detailed control and dynamic range.
While the number of Local Dimming zones is less on the BRAVIA 7, than the BRAVIA 9, the Sony XR Processor is so extrodinary, the BRAVIA 7 produces an outstanding, high contrast picture. Sony rates it as having Contrast Booster 20 while the BRAVIA 9 is Contrast Booster 30.

Sony's newest, and most affordable mini- LED series is called BRAVIA 5. The LEDs have 25% less zones. Yet, compare the new BRAVIA 5 for contrast, brightness, motion control and there is no finer picture available at such a reasonable price. Including the outstanding new 98 in BRAVIA 5... a huge TV with a fantastic picture at such a reasonable price!
