Welcome Back to the USA! During the heyday of Hi-Fi, Dual was the biggest name in Turntables. We sold hundreds of them. These are the first two new models.

Dual gots it name because the first Dual turntables had both, wind up sping motors and electric motors. That's how far back Dual goes. These new designs are based on tried and tested technology. At the Design Center is a collection of Dual turntables. They have been disected and studied and new modern manufacturing techniques used to manufacture the new CS line of Dual turntables.
     In 1900, the Steidinger Brothers established a factory to make precision machanics. They made tools for the clock makers of the region. They developed a spring loaded drive for Gramaphones. In 1907 they introduced the Dual Electro Feder Werk. In 1949, the Dual 1000 was a record changer.
    In 1963 the Dual 1219 turntable was introduced. It was the first turntable to have a platter the same size as the record. It features a double gimbal arm, low friction tonearm for excellent tracking ability.
     In 1973 Dual introduced the first Euopean made Direct Drive turntable.
     Competition from low cost Asian manufacturing and then the introduction of the Compact Disc caused Dual's decline, despite being the first European brand to manufacture a CD player in Europe.
     Now Dual has new owners, new blood, and new models.
